German boy air-lifted from cruise ship to Kalamata hospital
An 11-year-old German boy complaining of acute abdominal pain was on Thursday airlifted from the cruise ship "Amadea" to Kalamata air base, where he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the local hospital.
The boy was taken off the cruise ship, which was travelling 65 nautical miles east of Kalamata at the time, by a Hellenic Air Force AB-205 helicopter. He was accompanied by his mother.
