Major drug dealing ring dismantled
Police dismantled a drug dealing ring that imported and distributed large quantities of drugs in Greece.

Twenty members of the criminal organisation were arrested in wider Attica region as well as in Chania on Crete. Ten of the suspects are local, among them and a police officer, nine are Albanians and one suspect is Syrian.

A case file against 43 persons was formed, six of them are incarcerated in Greek jails.

The leader of the gang was a 36-year-old Albanian national who is in prison.

Police found and confiscated approximately 1.8 kg of cocaine, 2 kg of heroin, 7.8 kg of cannabis, two guns and three cartridges, two hunting rifles, six vehicles, a motorcycle, and 33,615 euros and 5.100 lek cash.

Moreover, during the investigation for the gang's activity, five criminal groups linked with the members of the ring were dismantled, 22 individuals were arrested and a total of 13,455 kg of cocaine, 18,235 kg of heroin and approximately 30 kg of cannabis were confiscated.

The suspects were sent to Athens prosecutor and the involved police officer was suspended.
