PM Tsipras calls for more cooperation with Turkey to decrease migrant flows, arriving for European Council
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Thursday called for closer cooperation with Turkey to decrease migration flows as he arrived for a European Council meeting in Brussels, adding that Greece has made significant progress in preparing hotspots.

"I think that now it's time for more cooperation in order to decrease the migrant flows, especially the non-refugee flows," he said, adding that he had a constructive discussion earlier on Thursday with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and that "we have to work harder in this direction."
He said that Greece has met its obligations, and had made significant progress with the hotspots, and was ready to cooperate more closely with Turkey to decrease refugee flows.

"But our first obligation is the humane obligation, to give to these people solidarity. So today we have a lot of things to discuss, not only about refugee issues but also about 'Brexit', though I don't think this is the time for exits in Europe, it is a time for more cooperation," he said.
