Greek stocks end slightly lower
Bank shares continued falling, pushing the sector index to new record lows as the market reacted negatively to the fact that prices set in book building offers were markedly lower compared with current market share prices.
The composite index fell 0.20 pct to end at 670.45 points, after falling as much as 1.64 pct during the day. The Large Cap index eased 0.18 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 1.98 pct lower. Turnover was a low 38.791 million euros in volume of 354,752,903.
Hellenic Exchanges (7.93 pct), Folli Follie (3.91 pct) and OTE (3.84 pct) scored the biggest percentage gains of the day among blue chip stocks, while Piraeus Bank (27.59 pct), Eurobank (23.81 pct), National Bank (14.67 pct) and Alpha Bank (6.56 pct) suffered heavy losses.
Among market sectors, Insurance (7.04 pct), Financial Services (5.92 pct) and Telecoms (3.84 pct) scored big gains, while Banks (15.08 pct), Travel (2.84 pct) and Health (2.36 pct) suffered losses.
Broadly, decliners led advancers by 59 to 41 with another 23 issues unchanged. Nafpaktos Spin Mills (16.19 pct), AEGEK (11.54 pct) and Kekrops (9.96 pct) were top gainers, while Attica Bank (28.57 pct), Piraeus Bank (27.59 pct) and Eurobank (23.81 pct) were top losers.
