Greek stocks fall for fifth successive session‏

Greek stocks continued moving lower for the fifth successive session in the Athens Stock Exchange on Monday, pushing the composite index of the market below the 650-point level. The index fell 1.34 pct to end at 643.85 points, off the day’s lows of 641.90 points. The index is down 5.80 pct in the last five sessions.

The Large Cap index eased 0.83 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 0.93 pct lower. Turnover was a low 41.528 million euros. Eurobank (3.85 pct), OTE (1.75 pct), National Bank (1.49 pct) and Jumbo (0.44 pct) scored the biggest percentage gains of the day, while Alpha Bank (8.57 pct), Athens Water (6.08 pct), Ellaktor (5.85 pct) and Grivalia Properties (5.37 pct) suffered heavy losses.

Among market sectors, Telecoms (1.75 pct), Personal Products (0.16 pct) and Financial Services (0.04 pct) scored big gains, while Chemicals (5.60 pct), Real Estate (3.91 pct) and Utilities (3.21 pct) suffered losses.

Broadly, decliners led advancers by 70 to 22 with another 19 issues unchanged. Akritas (12.36 pct), Inform Lycos (9.80 pct) and Iaso (6.52 pct) were top gainers, while Vioter (19.49 pct), Dromeas (15.89 pct) and Altec (15.38 pct) were top losers.
