Greek stocks end the week 3.66 pct lower
Shares of Alpha Bank and Piraeus Bank ended sharply lower, while National Bank's share rose and Eurobank remained unchanged. PPC recorded significant gains after its share was included in the MSCI Greece index.
The composite index of the market fell 1.0 pct to end at 652.61 points, off the day’s lows of 651.15 points. The index ended the week 3.66 pct lower, for a decline of 6.93 pct so far in November and a loss of 23.42 pct in 2015. The bank index dropped 23.42 pct in the week.
The Large Cap index fell 1.18 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 0.78 pct lower. Turnover was an improved 56.119 million euros, with volume at 402,907,282.
PPC (5.38 pct), National Bank (3.59 pct), Piraeus Port (2.01 pct) and OTE (0.59 pct) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while Alpha Bank (9.09 pct), Piraeus Bank (8.51 pct), Viohalco (4.17 pct) and Hellenic Petroleum (3.94 pct) suffered heavy losses.
Among market sectors, Telecoms (0.59 pct) and Personal Products (0.39 pct) scored gains, while Insurance (10 pct), Oil (3.28 pct) and Chemicals (2.72 pct) suffered the heaviest percentage losses of the day.
Broadly, decliners led advancers by 58 to 32 with another 24 issues unchanged. Hellenic Sugar (19.80 pct), AEGEK (17.65 pct) and Trastor (13.45 pct) were top gainers, while Sato (19.53 pct), Dionic (19.15 pct) and Altec (18.75 pct) were top losers.
