Greek stocks ended slightly lower in the Athens Stock Exchange in thin trading as investors remained on the sidelines, awaiting news from a bank recapitalization plan and ongoing negotiations between Greek authorities and the country’s creditors on a package of prior actions.

The composite index of the market fell 0.64 pct to end at 667.88 points, after falling as much as 1.11 pct earlier in the session. The Large Cap index fell 1.24 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 0.06 pct higher. Turnover was a low 37.943 million euros, with volume at 305,050,244.

Piraeus Bank (4.65 pct), Eurobank (4.0 pct), Folli Follie (1.78 pct) and Jumbo (1.61 pct) were top gainers among blue chip stocks, while National Bank (8.16 pct), Alpha Bank (4.76 pct) and OTE (2.89 pct) suffered the heaviest percentage losses of the day.

Among market sectors, Health (6.46 pct), Commerce (1.74 pct) and Technology (1.35 pct) scored big gains, while Banks (4.86 pct), Telecoms (2.89 pct) and Real Estate (1.54 pct) suffered losses.

Broadly, decliners led advancers by 53 to 48 with another 11 issues unchanged. Dromeas (20.62 pct), Altec (20 pct) and AEGEK (19.35 pct) were top gainers, while Attica Bank (14.29 pct), Hatzikraniotis (13.51 pct) and Lavipharm (11.81 pct) were top losers.
