Car registrations up 6.7 pct in Sept‏

Car registrations grew 6.7 pct in September totaling 8,249 vehicles (new or used ones), up from 7,730 in the corresponding month last year, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.

The statistics service, in a monthly report, said that car registrations were up 44.3 pct in September 2014. New car registrations totaled 5,509 in September, from 5,374 in September 2014, for an increase of 2.5 pct.

In the January-September period, car registrations totaled 89,891, up 17.3 pct from the same period in 2014, while new car registrations totaled 62,236 in the nine-month period, up 8.9 pct from the corresponding period last year.

Motorcycle registrations totaled 3,293 in September, down 4.0 pct from September 2014, while in the nine-month period, motorcycle registrations totaled 28,834, up 2.1 pct from 2014.
