Government's priority will be to implement 'savage' memorandum measures, KKE says

The immediate priorities of the SYRIZA-ANEL government will be the rapid implementation of the measures in the 3rd memorandum, that include the massacre of wages, labour and pension rights, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) commented on Friday.

"There is a steep bill that the Greek people are called upon to pay in order to support capitalist profitability and the banks," KKE added, responding to the speech delivered by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to his newly-formed government.

In addition to lower incomes, working class households would be subjected to "savage taxes, privatisations and hand over ready cash for the recapitalisation of banks and new fields of profit for capital," KKE said. It also laid bare "Mr. Tsipras' fairy-story about 'equivalents' and a growth model that could support both the profits of a few and the needs of the many," the party announcement added.
