JYSK opens its first shop in Athens
"Why not in Greece?" said Lars Larsen, founder and owner of the multinational company JYSK when he was asked about the company's decision to enter the Greek market at this period.
"We believe in Greece, one of the last European countries in which we have not yet established presence. We have been in the past in countries facing difficult economic conditions and our results there were very good. In JYSK shops, our customers in Greece will be able to find excellent offers and make quality purchases despite the economic crisis," he said.
Denmark's ambassador to Greece Michael Braad attended the opening ceremony of JYSK shop in Athens. He welcomed JYSK in Greece and stressed the importance of making new investments that help the Greek economy.
JYSK plans to open new shops in three Greek cities (Larisa by mid-October, Thessaloniki by the end of October and Hellinikon (south Attica) by the end of November).
JYSK in a global company which was founded in Aarhus, Denmark in 1979. The group operates a network of more than 2,275 shops, with 19,000 employees in 38 countries in Europe and Asia. It has an annual turnover of 2.8 billion euros.
