Popular Unity is not is not the party of the drachma, but a party with a comprehensive programme and plan aiming at the abolition of the austerity as well as the banks' nationalisation and the suspension of payments, stressed party leader Panagiotis Lafazanis speaking on Monday to ANT1 TV.
Lafazanis defined the party's key figure saying "no to the country's sell off, not to the tax raid and to the country's subordination. He also supported that the agreement is Alexis Tsipras' gift to the memorandum forces adding that the last Greek prime ministers behaved in an unacceptable way and "put Europe's and the German establishment's interests above the Greek people's interests."
"Greece has become a protectorate and the Greek people slaves," said Lafazanis who among others referred to the refugees saying that by the time the drama of the refugees touches us all we are not talking about the Greek youth that is essential "in refugee condition" with thousands of young people leaving the country to find a better future elsewhere.
