Independent Greeks leader: I will support Tsipras again

"The Greek people must understand that now they turn page, they must decide if they want a government from the past or a government that will take them ahead," noted Independent Greeks (ANEL) leader Panos Kammenos speaking to ANA-MPA's "Praktorio 104.9" radio.

"When I say that the page is turned I do not mean that we will go to another memorandum that leads to recession and internal devaluation. I refer to a final solution that will offer the opportunity with fresh cash that will be sent to the market and money that will be given for growth from the so-called Juncker package in order to leave from the austerity policy and to start rebuilding our country" said Kammenos.

He called his cooperation with SYRIZA and Alexis Tsipras honest and underlined "When I had the chance to become a hero and to overthrow the government, I preferred to support this man who fought like a lion in Brussels by himself. I supported the Greek prime minister and I will support him again."

Asked on Tsipras' statement that he would not participate in a goverment with New Democracy, Potami and PASOK, Kammenos clarified "Neither will I" adding "If SYRIZA is first in the elections and we are in the parliament we will be able to form a government together."

On the refugees issue, ANEL leader said he agrees Lesvos island to be declared in state of emergency and stressed the need for initiatives on international level to be taken so that the problem is effectively confronted.
