Abolishing the bailout programs, ending austerity, exiting the Eurozone, nationalizing banks, abolishing of Greece’s privatization agency and gradually restoring minimum wage are some of the proposals of Popular Unity (PU) party, presented on Wednesday by its leader Panagiotis Lafazanis during a press conference.

“The programmatic declaration of the People's Unity is the only one that can constitute an important and persuasive proposal with the prospect of achieving power against the memorandum affiliation of Alexis Tsipras,” Lafazanis told the press.

Other proposals presented by the head of PU is abolishing the unified property tax (ENFIA), restoring collective labour agreements and maintaining state control over companies of “strategic importance”.

Lafazanis also supported introducing a national currency to restore liquidity and adopting a multi-dimensional domestic policy, while he hinted on a possible referendum for an exit from the EU if his party cannot implement its program.
