Προσθήκη του gazzetta.gr στην Google Fifty-three members of SYRIZA's Central Committee, most of them affiliated with the Panagiotis Lafazanis' Left Platform, resigned on Wednesday. In a letter, they stressed that they were unable to served the new memorandum signed by Greece, which they said delivered the killing blow to the Greek people, as Central Committee members.
The majority of the 53 have already joined Lafazanis' Popular Unity movement.
They also accused the government of ignoring SYRIZA's programme and collective processes, including the Central Committee's decision for an extraordinary conference, in order to sign a new harsh memorandum and then calling snap elections without consulting the Central Committee at all.
Among those resigning were Alekos Kalyvis, Sofi Papadogianni, Antonis Davanellos and Stathis Leoutsakos, who had all resigned from the party's Political Secretariat last week, and the MEP Nikos Houndis.
