Varoufakis says banks will open Tuesday, considers agreement 'certain'

Asked to confirm an earlier statement saying he would resign if the Greek people voted 'yes', Varoufakis replied only that "The Greek people will vote 'no' on Sunday" and categorically denied that he was "preparing a heroic exit."

When reporters asked if banks will still open, even if there is no deal with the country's creditors, Varoufakis said that they will open "with an agreement,@ which he insisted was a certainty.

"Of course it is certain. Doesn't Europe know what is in its best interests," he said, while expressing his displeasure with the fact that the ATMs in Parliament "had emptied four times".
