Miner Hellenic Gold rejects arguments the company does not respect environment
Mining company Hellenic Gold described on Monday as “groundless fabrications” statements that the company is not fulfilling its contractual obligations, following SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras' comments on the ministerial decision to suspend its operations.
“Hellenic Gold implements unswervingly the legality and fully meets all its contractual obligations. Statements arguing the company is not fulfilling its obligations are groundless fabrications on which the Council of State has repeatedly ruled upon,” Canadian-owned Hellenic Gold said, adding that it agrees withthat investments must respect the environment and labour laws which the company has done.
