Greece close to a deal with institutions, EWG called at 20.00
The Eurogroup Working Group (EWG) is expected to convene via teleconference at 20.00 (local time) on Friday to discuss the agreement which is close to being achieved between the government’s economic team and the representatives of the institutions.
A senior official from the finance ministry confirmed the two sides are very close to a deal and that negotiations will be completed within the next two hours.
Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos and Economy Minister Giorgos Stathakis are currently meeting with the representatives of the institutions to achieve an agreement on the prior actions which will unlock the sub-tranche of 1 billion euros from Greece’s loan.
