Moscovici sees discussion on Greek debt starting in early 2016
"I believe that in the start of the year we will be ready to begin the discussion on the debt," he said in reply to EuroParliament Vice-President and SYRIZA MEP Dimitris Papadimoulis but did not clarify when this discussion might end.
Moscovici also referred to the deadlines and milestones by which the reforms must succeed and the programme be implemented.
He noted that the first package of reforms had been implemented and the second package was in the process of being approved, with "ambitious and bold" reforms - such as that for the pension system - still pending.
According to Moscovici, Greece was moving in the right direction to secure more disbursements but also the recapitalisation of the banks.
