Moscovici: If cooperation between Greece and institutions continues, deal will soon be reached
The Commissioner said cooperation with Greek authorities is very good and said Greece has implemented the first batch of reforms, releasing 2 billion euros of its loans.
“The Commission’s opinion is that the level of work and cooperation is quite satisfactory,” he said, adding that progress has been made, but that there’s still a lot of work to be done on Greece’s side and many decisive reforms that must be made now.
“We are certain that with the same positive spirit of cooperation and an effort from everyone’s side we will reach success,” he said.
Moscovici said that no agreement has yet been reached on the second batch of prior actions but refused to name specific reforms that are included. “We have to show some patience … I’m certain we will agree soon.”
However, Commission sources said the list might be finalized during today’s Eurogroup Working Group, or on Friday when the Economic and Financial Committee of the 28 member-states convenes.
