President Pavlopoulos discusses regional development with Attica prefect
Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos met with Attica Prefect Rena Dourou on Wednesday to discuss the role of local authority in economic progress.
Pavlopoulos said prefectures play a huge role in restarting the economy, especially through EU funded programs. “They undertake this role without always having been given the tools to cope by the central government," he said, adding that since the regions system was created, it has not had the necessary infrastructure. “So what you do - and you've accomplished a lot by finding resources in relation to the NSRF and beyond it, honours you,” he added.
