Debate on bill containing prior actions started in parliament
The debate on the draft law on the third package of prior actions that the government agreed with the lenders started on Thursday at the parliament plenum.
The protection of the first residence dominates the deputies’ positions. The government claims that the weaker strata will be fully protected while the opposition parties say that the protection will be dramatically reduced.
The debate will also focus on the burning issue of the special tax on wine for which a large number of SYRIZA and ANEL co-governance deputies have expressed their concern.
The debate on the draft law, which is held under urgency procedure, is expected to be completed on Thursday night.
