Ecumenical Patriarch meets SYRIZA MEP Papadimoulis in Brussels
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew had a meeting with European Parliament Vice-President and SYRIZA MEP Dimitris Papadimoulis in Brussels on Tuesday.
According to a press release, they discussed the importance of dialogue between the religions in the wake of the Paris attack and in the face of the major challenges of the time, such as the migration and refugee issues and other social and humanitarian crises.
They also highlighted the need for cooperation between religious leaders, as well as with EU institutions. Among others, they examined the prospect of inviting the Patriarch to address the European Parliament in 2016.
