People must show no tolerance for renewed austerity, KKE says
The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) on Friday urged Greek people to "show no tolerance and have no illusions" concerning the new round of austerity measures that the government was attempting to pass in Parliament.
"The government says it wants to get the prior actions for the review out of the way in order to proceed with the negotiation on the debt and bank recapitalisation. In reality it wants to vote through the barbaric measures of the third memorandum quickly and without popular resistance, concealing from the people that their constant slaughter is the one unchanging prior action in any negotiation," a KKE announcement said.
It urged people to "raise a barrier of resistance to the measures that will lead to even greater bankruptcy, on the altar of capitalist recovery."
