European Affairs Minister Xydakis meets with UNHCR's delegation, Austrian envoy
Alternate Minister for European Affairs Nikos Xydakis met on Friday with a delegation of the UN’s High Commission for Refugees in Greece, with whom he discussed Greece’s role in the refugee crisis and its European dimension.
The delegation included Alessandra Morelli, UNHCR's emergency coordinator, Giorgos Tsarbopoulos, head of UNHCR's office in Greece and Kalliopi Stefanaki, Protection Officer.
Earlier, Xydakis discussed the same issue as well as bilateral relations with Austria’s Ambassador to Greece, Andrea Ikić-Böhm. According to a press release by the foreign ministry, the two sides referred to the excellent bilateral relations, cooperation and consensus between the two countries, which was also reaffirmed during Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann’s recent visit to Athens.
