Commemoration of Ligiades massacre by the Nazi troops
A two-day events in commemoration of Ligiades village massacre from the Nazi troops will be held at the weekend in honour of the persons executed by the Nazi 72 years ago.
On Sunday 3 October 1943, the occupation troops raided the village and executed 82 villagers among them infants, children, women and the elderly and set fire to the houses.
The events will start on Saturday from Amphithea, the village where the nazi massacre started with the execution of a mother and her two children and the burning of a house, and will culminate on Sunday at Ligiades.
