Foreign Minister Kotzias meets Iranian counterpart
Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias on Tuesday met with Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif in New York City, on the margins of the UN General Assembly.
During their talks, the two ministers exchanged views on matters of international and regional interest, with emphasis on the situation in Syria and the broader region of the Middle East, expressing the will to strengthen their efforts to further cultivate the two countries’ bilateral relations and deepen political, economic, commercial and cultural cooperation.
Kotzias invited his Iranian colleague to the Conference on “Religious and Cultural Pluralism and Peaceful Co-existence in the Middle East,” which will take place in Athens from 18 to 20 October, and he reaffirmed his intention to carry out a visit to Tehran, which had been scheduled but was postponed due to the recent elections in Greece.
