Tsipras, Putin, discuss bilateral relations, refugee crisis in phone conversation
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed bilateral relations, regional developments and the refugee crisis in a telephone conversation on Friday evening.
Putin congratulated Tsipras on his electoral victory issues relating to the upcoming meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee between Greece and Russia, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
The prime minister also received a congratulatory phone call from the President of Italy’s Parliament Laura Boldrini, with whom they discussed the prospects of the relations between the two countries.
Later, he met with China’s Ambassador to Greece, Zou Xiaoli, who forwarded the congratulations of Tsipras’ counterpart, Li Keqiang, on taking office.
