SYRIZA's Voutsis says cooperation possible with PASOK, Potami but not ND
Former SYRIZA minister Nikos Voutsis on Tuesday indicated that his party might be open to post-election cooperation with either PASOK or Potami, on the basis of a convergence of their policies and programmes, but not with arch rivals New Democracy.

"New Democracy is traditionally the opponent, the other pole in the political system," he said, noting that there was no room for 'grand coalition' scenarios along the lines of the German model. If SYRIZA failed to gain an absolute majority in Parliament it would strive for a government with a "progressive direction" Voutsis said on SKAI.

He also noted that the European partners' commitment to discuss debt relief for Greece was a given, regardless of what government that was formed after the elections on September 20. He was commenting on the statements of a European source published in 'Ta Nea', which said that a condition for negotiation on Greece's debt was the formation of a government with "broad legitimisation".
