Main opposition leader calls for meeting of political leaders
New Democracy (ND) leader Vangelis Meimarakis called for a meeting of the council of political leaders after the completion of the exploratory process, following a meeting with Popular Unity leader Panagiotis Lafazanis in parliament on Tuesday.
He said the meeting is necessary to discuss the possibility of forming a government from the current parliament but also to decide on a caretaker government. If no agreement is reached, the mandate to form a government will be granted to Supreme Court President Vasiliki Thanou.
Popular Unity MPs Dimitris Stratoulis and Kostas Isychos attend the meeting between the two party leaders.
