Main opposition New Democracy on Friday warned the government that it will not tolerate actions or initiatives that are not part of the exploratory mandate process.

The reaction was prompted by a report in ANA-MPA that the country’s privatization agency was planning to change the management of the country’s ten regional ports within the next ten days.

New Democracy said these actions “border on [political] aberration” and noted that the national printing office should operate solely in the framework of this process and suspend the issue of any unrelated executive orders.

The party’s leader, Vangelis Meimarakis, is scheduled to meet with PASOK leader Fofi Gennimata at noon in parliament on Friday as he continues his efforts to form a coalition government and avoid snap elections.
