'We have made 7,000 identifications of refugees,' says Interior Min dep.sec.sen
"We have made 7,000 identifications of refugees and migrants within five days and this is a feat, considering that Europe has identified 8,000 people in four years,"Deputy Secretary General of the Interior and Administrative Reconstruction ministry Tzanetos Filippakos said on Thursday to ANA-MPA.
Regarding the arrival of 2,500 Syrian refugees at Piraeus port, he said: "The transfer was completed exceptionally. There was not the slightest problem. The arrival at Piraeus port had been planned from the beginning. Anything else you may hear is inaccurate. The transfer of refugees by boat was my own proposal to the government."
Filippakos also stated that "99 percent of the refugees on the 'Eleftherios Venizelos' ferry is from Syria and can afford to stay in hotels at their own expense, while the rest can go to Eleonas camp.
