EconMin Stathakis: FinMin must be equipped with authorisation for deal at Eurogroup
Greece’s Finance Minister must be equipped with an authorization to secure a deal with the country’s lenders at Friday’s Eurogroup, Economy Minister George Stathakis told parliament during a debate on the agreement at the relevant committees.
“The government aims at a three-year agreement with full funding and we believe the finance minister must be equipped with this authorization for tomorrow’s Eurogroup. Anything else would be dangerous,” he noted.
The minister also explained that the government chose on July 12 to agree to this deal and from that point onwards, the process is determined by a very restricting timetable.
