Main opposition to approve agreement with lenders in parliament
Main opposition New Democracy (ND) will vote in favour of the agreement signed between Greece and its lenders, the party’s parliamentary group concluded after a seven-hour meeting on Thursday.
“All lawmakers decided that ND, as a party representing responsibility and consistency, will support the country’s European path,” the party said in a statement.
“The main conclusion is that New Democracy doesn’t adopt the very painful measures the coalition is bringing and pledges to make every effort to improve and cure the injustices for some social groups and especially for farmers,” the party added.
