No breach of database holding Greek taxpayers’ identification numbers-police report
The database which holds Greek taxpayers’ identification numbers in the finance ministry has not been breached, according to the findings of an investigation by the country’s cybercrime unit, police announced on Friday.
The investigation had been ordered by First Instance Prosecutor Ilias Zagoraios, following statements by former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis about the existence of a plan to hack into the system.
Police said the investigation was conducted by four specialized officers who analysed four hard drives which had been collected from the finance ministry.
