PM Alexis Tsipras enters meeting of SYRIZA MPs to rousing applause
Rousing applause met Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Wednesday as he entered a crucial meeting of SYRIZA MPs in Parliament, ahead of Wednesday night's vote on measures demanded by Greece's creditors in order to begin talks on a 3rd bailout for Greece.
Also noted was the embrace as he came in with Parliament President Zoi Konstantopoulou, who had abstained during a vote seeking Parliament's authorisation to the government to negotiate a bailout with tough austerity measures.
A closed-door session of SYRIZA's Parliamentary group will follow to discuss the fast-tracked draft omnibus bill that legislates for the measures demanded of Greece, in exchange for financial assistance.
