Finance ministry meeting underway to discuss state of Greek banking system
A meeting between the finance ministry's leadership and the country's top bankers was underway at the Greek finance ministry on Friday, to discuss the state of Greece's banking system.
Participants from the government included its Vice-President Yiannis Dragasakis, Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis and Alternate Finance Minister Dimitris Mardas. Bankers included National Bank of Greece governor Louka Katseli, who is also president of the Hellenic Bank Association, and NBG CEO Leonidas Fragkiadakis, Eurobank Chairman Nikos Karamouzis and CEO Fokion Karavias, Alpha Bank Chairman Vassilis Rapanos and CEO Demetris Mantzounis, Piraeus Bank CEO Anthimos Thomopoulos, Attica Bank Chairman Ioannis Gamvrilis and CEO Alexandros Antonopoulos, Bank of Greece Deputy Governor Theodoros Mitrakos and Hellenic Bank Union Secretary Christos Gortsos.
