Stathis Tsotsoros on Thursday resigned from his post as executive chairman in Hellenic Petroleum Group and from his salary contract agreed by the group’s shareholders, but will remain as non-executive chairman of the board.

This means that his salary will return to the levels of the previous chairman (170,000 euros) from the current 280,000 euros approved by the shareholders.

Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy ministry sources said that the ministry was not present at the shareholders’ general meeting which approved the chairman’s salary and noted that the minister was never asked, or approved the executive chairman’s salaries or agreed with the sum.
