The opposition Potami party on Thursday denounced ruling coalition leader SYRIZA for "using the Greek state as an undisguised propaganda machine" in order to promote a 'no' vote in Sunday's referendum.

"The government, in a state of absolute panic, does not hesitate to convert public administration that is paid for by all tax payers into its 'fief' and recruiting it in favour of a 'no' [vote]. This is a typical example of the totalitarian mindset of those in power," a Potami announcement said.

Among others, it criticised the use of the finance ministry's amphitheatre for a pro 'no' rally, with Alternate Minister for Adminsitrative Reform George Katrougalos as main speaker, a call by the General Secretary for Gender Equality Fotini Kouvela at a seminar partly funded by the NSRF to vote 'no', as well as the official state website for the referendum using state funding.
