We must not abandon the Greeks, Spiegel's Jakob Augstein says
He said the referendum is an act of despair adding that "it is the last act of a rebellion against a policy which Tsipras failed to eliminate because the others (creditors) kept an adamant stance."
He noted that if he was Greek, he would vote 'No' to the referendum "because the situation is totally hopeless and because if there is one last chance, Greece should oppose unified to the IMF, EU Commission and ECB's terms."
He added that "if 'Yes' prevails, the country will have to go to elections and the situation will get more confused. Therefore, the referendum is the last opportunity for reaction. However, I do not know if there will be a result since the creditors' stance will not change."
