National Archaeological Museum celebrates milestone year in Jan. 2016 with events

The National Archaeological Museum, Greece’s largest, is marking its 150th anniversary in 2016 and is celebrating by hosting a series of events on Jan. 4, including the presentation of a new object from the “Unseen Museum”.

On the day, the museum will present visitors its program for the New Year (18.00-20.00) at the Hall of the Altar, after which curators will reveal a masterpiece red-figure krater depicting the eternal banquet of Dionysus and Nike and their own wish for longevity and a good life.
The event will be followed by a musical performance by the Mixed Choir of Keratsini-Drapetsona Municipality and the Mixed Choir of the Association Faraklata of Cephalonia, who will present traditional songs and Christmas carols from the Ionian Islands.
To attend the event, visitors will have to purchase an entrance ticket.
