Thirteen refugees drown in a new sea tragedy off Farmakonissi early on Wednesday morning
Thirteen people lost their lives, victims of a new accident at the sea region east of the island of Farmakonissi, when a 7- meter boat with 29 refugees aboard sunk under indeterminate circumstances early on Wednesday morning.
Among the drown victims are counted 7 children, four men and two women.
The Greek Coast Guard has managed to rescue from the sea 15 persons (13 men and two womwen), and in the meantime in full scale is the research to discover one more missing individual. In the research, in addition to the vessels of Coast Guard participate a Super Puma helicopter and various fishing boats.
According to informations, three of the rescued (two women and a man) were recovered in a comatose state and were urgently transported by helicopter to the hospital of Leros.
