First estimation of elections result for ND's new leader expected after 22:00
The polls for the election of New Democracy's new leader will close at 20:00 instead of 19:00 due to high turnout of voters.

According to ANA-MPA's information the first estimation on the elections result is expected at 22:00 on Sunday.

ND Democracy interim leader Yiannis Plakiotakis stated after casting his vote on Sunday at a poll station in Aghios Nikolaos on Crete "Today we vote for the present and the future of our party. With our vote we safeguard the unity and we support our common effort for the creation of a strong, great and modern New Democracy".

The party was forced to cancel its first elections on Nov. 22 due to major technical problems and drawing fierce criticism from members and candidates.

The candidates for ND’s leadership are Evangelos Meimarakis, Adonis Georgiadis, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Apostolos Tzitzikostas.
