FYROM authorities have begun raising fence at Greek border in Florina
Authorities in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) have started raising a fence along the border with Greece in Florina, the Florina Regional Authority deputy governor Stefanos Biros told the ANA-MPA on Wednesday.

He said work on the fence had started opposite the Niki border crossing, near Metzitlia, but noted that the work had not made progress "thouth some barriers have been placed".

Biros said the fence was being erected to prevent the access of migrants heading toward Greece's northern neighbour but noted that passage through the border crossing was currently taking place without problems, without migrants and refugees collecting on the Greek side of the border.
