KKE slams SYRIZA-ANEL government for poor state of education
The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) on Monday attacked the previous SYRIZA-ANEL coalition government for the poor state of the education system, just days before schools open.
"Tens of thousands of teachers will be forced to re-submit their applications to be hired as hourly wage-substitute teachers for the 2015-2016 academic year, once again standing in line," KKE said.
In addition to the delays in hiring substitute teachers, there were almost zero appointments of permanent teachers, which were even fewer than those provided for in the current budget, KKE added. It called for an end to the situation where thousands of teachers were unemployed at the same time as there were thousands of positions remained unfilled.
