Το Game of Thrones σάρωσε τα βραβεία Emmy (vids)

Κέρδισε ουσιαστικά το πιο σημαντικό βραβείο της βραδιάς, αυτό της καλύτερης σειράς, ενώ συνολικά απέσπασε μεταξύ άλλων το βραβείο β' ανδρικού ρόλου. Η τελετή πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Microsoft Theater του Λος Αντζελες με το ζήτημα της φετινής διοργάνωσης να είναι η «μάχη» μεταξύ του δικτύου HBO (μέσω του οποίου προβάλλεται το Game of Thrones), και της συνδρομητικής υπηρεσίας streaming Netflix. H μονομαχία τους εν τέλει έληξε με ισοπαλία 23ων βραβείων για το καθένα, ωστόσο οι ειδικοί διαβλέπουν πως είναι ζήτημα χρόνου το Netflix να πάρει προβάδισμα, δεδομένου του ότι το GOT που φέτος «κράτησε» το HBO ψηλά στις βραβεύσεις πλησιάζει στο τέλος του.

Στα τηλεοπτικά Όσκαρ -όπως χαρακτηρίζονται τα Emmy, καθόλου άσχημα δεν τα πήγε η σειρά του Amazon The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel που αφενός μεν έφυγε με 5 βραβεία (εκ των οποίων και αυτό της καλύτερης κωμικής σειράς) αφετέρου προσέφερε επιτέλους αναγνώριση στη δημιουργό των Gilmore Girls Έιμι Σέρμαν Παλαντίνο, η οποία ως τώρα δεν είχε διακριθεί. Μάλιστα, σηματοδότησε το τέλος μιας εποχής... ρεκόρ για το Veep και την πρωταγωνίστριά του Τζούλια Λούις Ντρέιφους που κέρδιζαν το βραβείο της καλύτερης κωμωδίας και της καλύτερης ηθοποιού επί τρία και έξι χρόνια σερί αντίστοιχα.

Οι πιο σημαντικές κατηγορίες κατέληξαν στους: Κλερ Φόι (The Crown) βραβείο Α' γυναικείου ρόλου για δραματική σειρά, Μάθιου Ρις (The Americans) Α' ανδρικού ρόλου για δραματική σειρά, Πίτερ Ντίνκλατζ (Game of Thrones) B' ανδρικού ρόλου, Θάντι Νιούτον (Westworld), Β' γυναικείου ρόλου.

Στα highlights της βραδιάς, συγκαταλέγεται σίγουρα η πρόταση γάμου του σκηνοθέτη Γκλεν Βάις στην αγαπημένη του Γιαν Σβέντσεν. Έχοντας ανέβει στην σκηνή για να παραλάβει το βραβείο του, ξεκίνησε ευχαριστώντας τη μητέρα του, λέγοντας ότι εκείνη πάντα πίστευε ότι κάποιος μπορεί να βρει τη «λιακάδα» του στα πράγματα και γι' αυτό λατρεύει το κορίτσι του Γιαν: «Γιαν είσαι η λιακάδα στη ζωή μου. Και η μαμά είχε δίκιο: Μη μου πάρεις ποτέ τη λιακάδα μου. Αναρωτιέσαι γιατί δε μου αρέσει να σε αποκαλώ ως "το κορίτσι μου"; Γιατί θέλω να σε λέω γυναίκα μου».
